This page contains the contact information for the Havurah Board of Directors, Committee and Group Chairpersons, Communication Contacts, and Event Chairpersons. Descriptions of the Committees, Groups, and Communication Team are also included.

If you have questions pertaining to the Havurah or would like to join, complete the New Member Application form and/or email the Membership VP. President - The president leads the membership and ensures it functions effectively. The president runs the board and general meetings.
Vice-President - The vice-president assists committee chairs and presides over meetings in the absence of the president. This officer is responsible for the club calendar and event scheduling.
Treasurer - The treasurer is responsible for collection of dues and disbursement of funds. Maintains financial records, reconciles bank statements, and handles financial reporting to the membership and SCA association.
Secretary - The secretary records the minutes for all board and general meetings and disseminates the minutes to the membership. The secretary is responsible for maintaining the archive of previous minutes.
Membership VP - The membership VP is the primary contact for new members explaining club structure and activities and welcoming new members at all events. This officer maintains the membership roster and reports member status to the membership.
Member at Large - To deal with any matters that are not the specific
responsibility of the other board members and to assist other board members as
and when additional help is needed. It is anticipated that the Member at
Large will play an active role in assisting the Vice President when it comes to
the planning of events and liaison with event chairpersons and their
committees.
Committees and Groups

The Sunshine Committee's purpose is to comfort members at a time of loss or illness. Cards are sent out and information is disseminated to members. If you become aware of health related issues regarding members, please communicate this information to the Sunshine Committee, Laura West and Sandi Greenblatt, at the e-mail shown above.
The Dine In Group chaired by Gary Rosenthal is a quarterly dining experience in member's homes. The groups are usually limited to 8 guests and members rotate into different groups each quarter. Further information may be obtained by e-mailing Gary at the address above.
The Movie Group is coordinated by Marilyn and Dave Kapel. The group meets on the first Monday evening of the month. Members of the group take turns hosting the group in their homes. Hosts choose the movie for the month, provide the venue, snacks and drinks, and lead the discussion. Guests are welcome to participate. Contact Marilyn and Dave at the e-mail address above.
The Food Bank Committee is chaired by Patsy Kart and Libby Miller and helps coordinate volunteers to work at the Jewish Family Services Food Bank one day per week. They do the scheduling on a quarterly basis and strive to get four Havurah volunteers every Friday. The Meeting Refreshments Committee is responsible for providing and setting up all the refreshments for the monthly and general meetings. They also may be called upon to assist during special Havurah events. If you would like to assist this committee including after meeting clean up, contact this committee at the e-mail above.
The Election Committee is responsible for obtaining nominees for the Board of Directors and presenting the slate to the membership for voting. Their duties also include counting the ballots and validating the election results.

Email bulletins are issued on an as needed basis by Phil Figarsky. Email address problems/corrections should be sent to the Membership VP, Maxine Drapkin, at the e-mail address shown under Board Members above.
Phil Figarsky handles all the Havurah Postal Mail for those members that don't have e-mail addresses.
